Meet Your Birth Team

  • Frances Jones-Coleman MPH, LM, CPM, Midwife, Owner

I’m Frances, a wife and mother of three, deeply familiar with the dynamics of family and childbirth. I have dedicated my career to improving women’s health, serving as an educator in this field for 12 years. Throughout my career, I have worked with nonprofit and grassroots organizations, creating programs and educating new families, including one year with Healthy Start, eight years at Texas Children’s Hospital, and five years at The Women’s Hospital of Texas.

I am a Licensed Midwife in Texas, certified through NARM, with two years of direct entry midwife training. I’ve had the opportunity to work with three local midwives, gaining experience in over 50 births. Currently, I’m employed at Bay Area Community Birth Center while maintaining a small home birth practice.

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Trevecca Nazarene University and a Master’s Degree in Public Health with a focus on Women’s Health from Loma Linda University. I became a Licensed Midwife in Texas in 2019 and am a Certified Professional Midwife. Additionally, I am a Certified Lamaze Childbirth Educator, and I am certified to teach Infant CPR, Newborn Care, and Car Seat Installation. I have also trained and worked as a Doula through CAPPA.

  • Faren Foley, LM, CPM, Midwife

    Faren Foley, LM, CPM, Midwife

Congratulations on the new addition to your family! I’m Faren, and I’m passionate about serving families right where they are. From a young age, I’ve felt called to support families, whether it was helping in church daycares or guiding pregnant teens through breastfeeding and baby care. I come from a long line of nurturing women who have shaped the way I care for families today.

I believe in the power of compassion, faith, and community, and love to share the goodness of Yah in everything I do. My husband and I have been married since 2011, and together we’ve been blessed with three wonderful children—Brock, Layla, and Blake.

Midwifery became my path because I wanted to make a real impact on maternal and infant health in the U.S. I believe quality midwifery care lays a strong foundation for a healthy pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience, tailored to each family’s unique needs.

I earned my Bachelor’s in Speech Communications from Texas Southern University in 2011, and after working in our family’s non-emergency transportation business, I was able to pursue my true passion: midwifery. I attended Southwest Technical College and became a midwife in 2023.

As your midwife, I am committed to ensuring you feel confident, empowered, and supported throughout pregnancy, birth, and beyond.

  • Christina Ward - Educator

I'm Christina, an educator, wife, and mother of three. My journey into birth work began after my first pregnancy and birth experience, which inspired me to support others in their own journeys. I became involved in a mother-to-mother breastfeeding support and community group, eventually becoming a co-moderator in 2011. Encouraged by the group founder, an IBCLC and my mentor, I decided to become a childbirth educator.

I have completed professional training, including childbirth educator and doula courses with the Bradley Method and CAPPA. Since 2014, I have been providing education on childbirth, postpartum, breastfeeding, and newborn care to expecting families, and I joined Full Circle in 2019.

I believe that support is vital throughout the journey of motherhood and parenting. Empowering families through evidence-based education is one of the best ways to provide this support. I am passionate about helping families, and my hope is that everyone I work with feels equipped and capable as they plan for their own ideal experiences.

  • Melina Laverde - Doula, Birth Assist

My name is Melina, and I have been dedicated to supporting families as a doula since 2019 and as a birth assistant since 2024. My journey into birth work began after the birth of my first daughter, igniting a passion that has guided my career. I have completed two cohorts with Birth Advocacy Doula Training (2019, 2020), a Belly Binding course with Midwife Tema in San Diego (2020), and earned my Birth Assistant certificate with Birth Assistant Education (2024). Additionally, I integrate cultural practices passed down through generations into my work.

I cherished my own pregnancy and labor experiences, feeling deeply that this path is a calling from God. It has been a privilege to serve and witness the growth of so many families.

Balancing my career with motherhood, I am grateful to demonstrate strength to my children through the birth stories of others and my own. As a homeschooling mother of two, I value the transformative impact that birth work has had on my family.

My goal is to ensure that all families experience a positive birth journey, empowered to make confident decisions as they transition into parenthood.

  • Stacy Besserud - Student Midwife, Newborn Hearing Screening Tech

My name is Stacy. I have been happily married to my elementary school best friend for 25 wonderful years, and I am the proud mother of five children. My passion for midwifery was ignited by the exceptional care I received from midwives during my first pregnancy. This nurturing experience inspired me to pursue a career in midwifery, further fueled by the challenges I faced with unexpected interventions and an unnecessary C-section.

When I am not immersed in midwifery care, I volunteer at my church and assist my local animal shelter by bottle-feeding kittens. My hobbies include watching popular television shows, traveling, listening to music, and exploring amateur genealogy.

I am deeply committed to midwifery and believe it is my true calling. I am guided by my faith and am enthusiastic about the opportunity to serve you.

  • Bee The Doula - BSN, RN, CD, Doula, Yoga Instructor, Student Midwife

I’m Bee (BriAnna or Bri), the Doula. Since August 2018, I have been a registered nurse specializing in postpartum, labor & delivery, and newborn nursery care. In February 2020, I completed my birth doula training through the National Black Doula Association. Additionally, I enjoy capturing precious moments through birth, newborn, and maternity photography, a passion I've pursued since 2015.

Growing up with parents in the medical field—my father a paramedic and my mother a Nurse Practitioner—instilled in me a deep desire to help others. My passion for childbirth began in early childhood and was solidified through my experiences in women’s health nursing and my journey of self-healing and spirituality. These experiences allow me to provide holistic, individualized support and care, incorporating herbs, natural birthing practices, and nutritional education.

My birth philosophy is centered on empowering clients to trust their instincts and abilities. I believe that birth is a natural process, not an illness, and I advocate for educating oneself to ensure a personal and empowered birth experience.
